-------------------------
Space shuttle Discovery may land at Edwards Air Force Base on Friday, if
the weather is bad at Kennedy Space Center.
And, for the first time since Sept. 11, 2001, you are invited to be there.
Edwards will open its North Gate (Highway 58) and Rosamond Gate (Highway
14, exit 55A) to the public at 10 a.m. Friday. The gates will close 30
minutes before the shuttle's expected arrival. The shuttle could land at
2:26, 4:01 or 5:36 p.m.
Members of the public 16 and older must show a valid U.S. driver's
license to get into the base for the shuttle landing.
