[MilCom] Reply to Noise Problem in TS-140(Late Post)

   Noise Problem in TS-140 or any other radio:  This GAP antenna "Hear It" speaker really works great with SWL or HF listening or in your case the TS-140! I use one on my Icom R-75 and the Yaesu FT-990 and it is unbelievable! It is a bit pricey but it really works and you can also run your normal speaker thru this and use the DSP of the unit itself!  I guess it depends on how much you want to spend and how much you want to get rid of this background noise and improve your listening experience. It takes out the hash and hiss and is configurable. When I first got it.....I thought what's this little thing gonna do........until I hooked it up........made me a believer. I think the English version is BHI speaker. It really works well on my R-75 in the HF Milair ranges!........peter j(Three Rivers, MI)

I just wanted to say thanks to allthat replied to my question on the Par EF 
Swl antenna.I got one and have had it up for a couple of weeks now.
The noise floor on the R8A runs about s2, the signals are not any stronger 
but without the noise (frying eggs) I hear so much more now.when I get a 
chance to listen.
Now if I could find a way make the windom on the TS-140S quieter I'd be a 
happy camper.
