[MilCom] Milcom/Milair Maxium Channels for Effectiveness?

The most I scan with one scanner is 1400 channels with my Optoscan equipped
Pro-2006 which is controlled by the Probe software. IMHO scanning this many
channels is not a good idea because it takes to long to cycle through all
the frequencies. With the Probe software I can set the scan rate of the
Pro-2006 at 100 channels/sec, so it takes 14 seconds to cycle through all
the frequencies. With the brevity of most milcoms it is better to have a
cycle rate in the 5-10 second range. For this reason I use the Pro-2006
only as an alert monitor for those less common frequencies (things like
cross country air-air, AWAC/JSTAR/TACAMO activity, and distant MOAs to
catch any band openings). I leave the daily monitoring of my most common
frequencies to my other scanners.
