> 8: All previously known and/or reported frequencies for the Blue Angels.

Hello Jeff and all,

After the show Jeff please be sure to post those BA freqs that were active
(even if we already know them). I am sure you will find like others this
season that the old freqs on your list as indicated below are no longer used
and really do NOT need to be entered. But I also understand that for some it
is real hard to let go of freqs. We fully understand that medical condition
and we have a new clinic setup that can cure the "I can't delete any freq
syndrome" here in NC. ;-)))

Let me make a few comments for you and the rest of the list about the BA
freqs you are loading. As most of you know I have been working the airshow
freqs hard for the last eight years. My goal has been to publish an accurate
and up-to-date list each year for the radio hobby community. After a
suitable cooling period, with first pub in MT magazine which pays the bills,
we do make it available for free on the MT website. As a side note to this,
I was a bit miffed last year when several folks wrote me privately that they
were upset that the list didn't make it to the website until the later part
of April. Of course, they were looking for the freebee, were not MT
subscribers and they didn't want to buy it off the newsstand. I have a word
for that, but I must play nice here...

So please allow me to make this real clear. My first loyalty is to our great
MT subscribers and those that purchase MT off the newsrack. They will see it
first. By the later part of April or around the first of May we will post
the March MT Milcom Airshow Annual to our website. "If you want it sooner,
buy the magazine." Please do not continue to ask when the list will hit the
website as it only aggravates me and waste a lot of time.

Now to a bit of analysis of Jeff's list (an asterisk indicates a freq
reported in the last two years):

VHF LMR (only two freqs are active and being reported)
BA Ground Barvo 139.8125* [uh, that is Bravo] ;-)))
BA Maint/Ground 142.0000 Hasn't been reported in over 3 years.
BA Ground Alpha 142.6125*
BA Maint/Ground 142.6250 Ditto above. I now an apparent trunk discrete freq
under the new bandplan apparently being implemented in this band.
BA TowerObserver 143.0000 Hasn't been reported since 2001 as a BA freq. Only
reported once. This is now a nationwide air only freq.
BA Cross Country 143.6000, Been awhile since this was reported. Believed one
of the two above replaced this previously reported comcart freq.
BA Maint/Ground 163.0000, 2004 airshow season was the last time for this
one. The new comcart we reported on last year has probably replaced all
these hi band VHF freqs.
BA Maint/Ground 164.9000, 2003 was the last year I saw this one in use.
(See note above on new comcart)
BA Maint/Ground 165.2250, I get an absolute chuckle on this one. I have
seen it on list before but never reported by anyone on this list seen I
formed it many years ago. Under any of the previous bandplans this wasn't
even an authorized frequency. Someone probably caught a 165.2125
transmission or an image. It surely wasn't 165.2375 MHz.
BA Maint/Ground 167.5000, I wonder what the FBI would think. It has been
their freq for years, another hosed BA legend.
BA Maint/Ground 167.8000, this is the non-voice data portion of the band,
another BA myth freq.
BA Maint/Ground 168.9000, last reported in 1999. (See note above on new
comcart)
BA Maint/Ground 169.4000, last reported in 1999. (See note above on new
comcart)
BA Maint/Ground 170.9000, last verified usage in 2004. (See note above on
new comcart)
BA TowerCommCart 173.8250, another BA myth freq. Not even a valid assignment
under the old gov bandplans.

UHF Milair discretes
BA Fat Albert 236.450, last reported in 2004.
BA Solos/Delta 237.800*
BA Diamond 1-4 238.150, hasn't been reported since 2003
BA Solos 5/6 249.625* first reported at Atlanta 2004.
BA Solos 5/6 251.600*
BA 254.500* first reported in Fort Lauderdale 2004.
BA Solos Comm 1 255.200* first reported in Springfield 2005.
BA 256.250, only time ever reported was in 1996 at NAS Fort
Worth. I have never been convinced the reporter of this freq had it right
back then. Definitely NOT a BA nationwide assignment. This is a know real
world tact SAR discrete. I doubt they would want the BA boys here with
maneuver cadence counts.
BA 257.950, definitly NOT a BA assignment. This is a
nationwide ATC only. If the BA were reported here it was for local ATC
purposes and NOT one of their nationwides. This a an example of why old list
need to be kept up to date or purged. I address this frequency four years
ago and still it continues to circulate.
BA 262.850, only time reported was Nawlins 2004. You can take
this one off the list as well. The freq is used for other purposes and NOT
the BA.
BA Diamond 1-4 263.350, Used during 1998-2003 as the BA Fat Albert demo
freq, not the diamond. We believe it has been replaced by 305.500.
BA Fat Albert 263.500, last reported in 1999. It has gone away.
BA 263.550, someone missed typed on a list this freq instead of 263.350. It
has circulated since. This is a military sat downlink, not a BA of any kind.
BA Diamond 1-4 264.350, never has been a reported BA freq.
BA Diamond 1-4 264.550, been reported but never had anyone confirm this
one. Passed around on list but no BA activity has been heard to date.
BA Diamond 1-4 265.000*, first reported in Vidalia in 2005.
BA 268.0000, never has been a BA freq and never will be. I would have to
kill you if I told you what this is used for. ;-)) This is probably a
mistype of 286.000
BA Pre-Show/Taxi 273.300*, first reported at ATL in 2004.
BA Diamond/Delta 275.350*, reported in Springfield in 2005.
BA Diamond 1-4 284.250* first report in 2005
BA 286.0000, Only reported twice in the late 1990s. Definitely not a BA
discrete today.
BA Diamond 1-4 299.650*, first reported in 2004.
BA 302.1500 Only reported twice in the late 1990s. Definitely not a BA
discrete today.
BA Fat Albert 305.500* reported last Spring at Andy. Seems to have
replaced all these other Fat Albert discretes.
BA Diamond 1-4 307.700, Only reported a few times in the late 1990s.
Definitely not a BA discrete today.
BA Solos 5/6 345.900, last reported in 2003.
BA Solos 5/6 346.500*, reported as a BA maintenance freq in 2005, noted
at Andy in 2006
BA 381.000* first reported in ATL in 2004. This could now be replaced since
the USAF has put a bunch of CPs here, or they may have loaned it to the
Blues in ATL due to QRM on another of their regular freqs.

Now before anyone gets excited I am NOT picking on Jeff. About once a year I
try to present an update and given the freqs on his list, I wanted to
explain why certain freqs are no longer valid and can be taken out of the
game. If any of you have any questions about your BA freq list, feel free to
contact me on or offlist. I will try and answer them as best I can.

Remember we can certainly use any and all input regardless of show, group
and whether we have or have not reported a particular frequency.

73 all and good hunting.
