Starting about 2:00PM Local...
A flight of two UGLIES entered the DUKE for some ground attack practice.
Entered the DUKE with Cleveland Center (ZOB-Wayland ) on 353.85. They were
air to air on 143.25. They bugged out at about 2:30 or so VFR at about
5,000 feet. These guys must have been really down at the bottom the the
DUKE, they were barely audible.
2:30PM - 2:35PM TAZ 72 (KC-135 Rickenbacker OHANG) calling out for the
UGLIES on 301.60 (DUKE Primary). The UGLIES must have gotten antsy and left
without working with these guys.
2:35PM - CADE flight checked in with ZOB on 353.85.
2:38PM - CADE contacts TAZ 72 on 301.60, he can barely hear the tanker.
2:39PM - CADE and TAZ can hear each other better now on 301.60.
2:40PM - CADE and TAZ looking to meet up around the Slate Run VOR.
CADES are air to air on 143.75 (AM Mode).
2:45PM - TAZ is slowing down to 200 knots and CADE 1 is precontact
stabilized and ready. Cleared to the boom.
The CADES are coming in OK, the tanker is very difficult to copy. They must
be way down at the Southeastern part of the DUKE.
2:47PM - CADE 1 coming in for another 500 Lbs of fuel. (301.60)
2:48PM - CADE 2 is precontact stabilized and ready. CADE requests TAZ
submit their request to ZOB for and IFR clearance back to Willow Grove.
(301.60)
CADE 2 is 80-0196.
2:50PM - Offload is complete. (301.60)
2:51PM - CADE is going to descend to below 16,000 and will be heading out to
the South. (301.60)
2:55PM - CADES push 338.30 (ZNY)
That'll do it from the sticks of Pennsylvania...they should be back to
Willow Grove shortly, tune into 143.75 to try and pick them up.
