Thanks for the verification that 148.15 is still in operation in Iowa. I
think that the aircraft was most likely using simplex rather than a
repeater, which is the normal procedure for airborne ops.
Consider keeping all the current CAP "known frequencies" in your scanner &
if usage disappears or there's indication of reference to switching to
channels that you aren't hearing, than it's time to start searching the
138-144, 148-150.8 mhz bands for potentially new frequencies.
CAP seems to be stressing to its' members that frequency information is FOR
OFFICIAL USE ONLY, not releasable to the general public, so IF they get any
new frequencies in the new narrow band (rebanding) of this frequency range,
the only method available will be to find these by searching. Rebanding
will result in about 700 frequencies being available.
