The 151.4 PL will work just fine. I use that on my 895 and 780
to eliminate local interference. I would expand my search up
into the 70 and 80 mhz range as well, as there is some traffic
up there, although not as much as in the 30-50 range. Do not
forget to search through the amateur 6 meter band as well,
the military does use frequencies in that range. I find my best
results using the FM mode rather than NFM mode. The WFM
mode is for broadcast frequencies and would certainly be the
wrong one to use.
