Regional Training Sites - Medical (RTS-MED)
The RTS-MED course of instruction provides both hands-on and classroom
training that conforms to the rigid standards established by the Army
Medical Department. The courses include the doctrine, tactics and training
curricula necessary to conduct medical support operations in a field
environment.

Interestingly, there's been a new facility constructed in Granby MA (close
to the approach zone Runway #23, KCEF). Everyone in the area is wondering
when the facility will actually start training the troops, since the
building was completed
about 4 months ago. "On Scene" monitoring activities should be relatively
easy since there's a town public park (Brown Ellison) right across the road
from the training facility. As for those of you into organic grown food
there's the Red Fire Farm (http://redfirefarm.homestead.com/files/index.htm
, just a stone's throw away from the community park (north side of street) &
Reserve Forces Training Area. If you use Googles Earth you will find a
picture of the old building (before it was torn down for a new building)
just west of that location at 42 degrees, 13.33", 46' North & 72 degrees,
29.36", 12' West, which is just east of the Taylor/Carver Streets
intersection heading east on Carver Street (south side of street). What
you will also find interesting is the signs posted on the perimeter security
fence which reads "Government Property Line Is +- 7' 0" From This Sign, Do
Not Trespass"...

Some hobbyists in the past have indicated that off the shelf FRS radios are
still being used by Reserve & Guard units for training/administrative
activities versus the more expensive intersquad VHF radios.
