[MilCom] National Guard WMD Support Team Operations?

Looks like there's a Joint Army/Air Force National Guard team in every 
state.  Has anyone every heard them testing their
communications equipment (frequencies?) and/or seen them participating in 
community exercises?

Rumor has it that they operate primarily in the federal UHF band, but also 
have radio equipment that allows them to talk with any local, county, state, 
area public safety agencies.
