143.700 Bosco 22 (C-5A Travis) wokring another company C-5A (no call
given). A-A chit chat about schedules etc. New 60AMW VHF A-A for me.
236.000 Mystery of the day. Caught N4491R working Knoxville Approach
@1017. This would be a first, a Cessna 172 with UHF? The Landings 'N' db
doesn't help here. CAP or other fed agency? Flightaware shows them in the
Btown at the time I received them heading toward KTYS. Interesting mystery.
257.750 Unid a/c working Memphis ARTCC @ 1012 EDT
293.400 Unid Air-Air talking about a gear stuck in the down position.
Pilot didn't even realize it was. Might have been a student pilot from
14FTW.
323.500 Unid A-A, heard the Spiders mentioned. Talking about bad RTs.
@1010 EDT
354.050 Raptor 31 working Atlanta Center (Huntsville Ulta High RCAG) for
altitude FL340-350 block request. Might have some testing in the area this
afternoon.
360.800>236.700 Bobcat 277 transiting the area @0920 EDT. Into
McGhee-Tyson (TYS).
256.850 May SS males back up this am on the UFO November Navy Fleet Relay
(25 kHz) Channel 05. This is definitely the CONUS 100 deg west bird and not
the ATL bird at 23 deg west. So equate the UFO Nov to 100 west. Confirmed
this banplan is in use by the reception of the fleet broadcast channel 1 for
the UFO-N bandplan on 250.350 (a flamethrower heard even on the 396 with the
rubber duck). Only other fleet broadcast channel heard here is 250.550
(somewhat weaker than 250.350) bandplans -- FLTSAT Bravo/LEASAT Yankee/UFO
Papa.
Now before I get flooded with emails, here are the Channel 1 Milsat Fleet
Broadcast channels. If you hear one of these then you know that bandplan is
in use in your part of the world. If you don't hear any of them, you won't
hear any satellite comms period.
Fleet Broadcast Channel 1
250.350 LEASAT Whiskey/UFO November
250.400 UFO November
250.450 FLTSAT Alpha/LEASAT Xray/UFO Oscar
250.500 UFO Oscar
250.550 FLTSAT Bravo/LEASAT Yankee/UFO Papa
250.600 UFO Papa
250.650 FLTSAT Charlie/LEASAT Zulu/UFO Quebec
250.700 UFO Quebec
Note to SE US monitors: I had a new ARTCC frequency pop this morning --
254.025. Not sure who this is, but it is definitely a new ARTCC freq (former
spectrum hole in my list).
73 all and good hunting,
