Where I used to live, near a military base, Radio Shack  WAS the best source of information 
about the military freqs in the area.  The local radio shack gave out a XEROXed listing of the 
freqs in the area, and much of the list was devoted to the base freqs. I don't know if they 
still have such info, but I'd assume that the availability of information at Radio Shacks 
probably depends on the individual area.
