> 269.300 ATC
Oakland ARTCC High Atitude Fallon RCAG
> 273.025 A2A
This is a reported test flight freq in the SW US. It is also a nationwide
JStars.
> 277.400 "Glidepath" (New freq. found!)
Now that is a most unusual, unexpected and way outside the glideslope
subband. Bill could that have been a carrier ACLS data signal? I seem to
remember from my last Navy venture out there they had a carrier landing data
link system like we used at NAS Dallas, Jax and NOLA. It is designed for
auto landing on the flattop.
277.400 is a FAA assignment used mostly by ARTCC nationwide.
> 284.650
An FAA assignment within a larger FAA freq block. Mostly App/Dep control
service and a few ARTCC assignments. I have no specific Fallon assignment.
> 285.100 Berlin Tac
Tactical aerial combat maneuvers and safety of flight
> 285.500 App/Dep
Yep, Oakland ARTCC provides the service.
> 305.800 EW Spyglass
EW Range Primary
> 318.500 EW
Used to be called "Gold Ops" and was located at Fairview Peak.
> 322.300 Desert Control (Was 263.6)
> (AKA:"Commodore Air Space" and the
> controller w/nickname Cowboy was a
> joy to listen to!)
Ah yes, now there are some fond memories. I did five trips to Falloooon as
we called it. Wasn't until the last trip that I didn't have to do the Fallon
shuffle (those of you who have been there know what that is). Got out the
last time cause I made Chief. ;-)))
Everytime I went Desert Control was in my ear as we monitored it for our
aircraft returning from a mission on the ranges.
Great list Bill. Next time you head out to Fallon, drop me a note before you
go and I will have some stuff for you.
We need more list like this on the Milcom group folks. When I formed this
list (and Fedcom/Trunkcom also) several years ago, this was the very kind of
thing I envisioned for this list. And for the most part I have been very
pleased with the support some have given. But there are a bunch of you out
there not pulling your share
If you haven't yet reported the freqs you listen to on the road or at home,
how about getting off your duff and post some of your confirmed freqs. We
will call it a "Milcom Roll Call." I think we will all benefit if we can get
some freq info out there. So please don't just sit on the sidelines, time to
belly up to the bar, support your fellow hobbyists and let us know what you
are hearing or what freqs you monitor in your scanner.
73 all and good hunting,
Chief Sends
