[MilCom] Antenna question

Steve,

This is a nice antenna, but......it is directional. A nice application would be if you lived in the vicinity of an air base and wanted to monitor a particular frequency of a station that never moved from it present location for instance the tower. 

In that case, great, it's "Point & Shoot". However, many of us want more versatility and that's why we go with an omni-directional discone so we can scan many frequencies coming from all directions.
