[MilCom] Question regarding Air-Refueling Operations

Yes Joe, it is very possible. I have some photos on my milcom site taken a
couple of years ago: http://www.geocities.com/kc8mzm/ar.htm
The first photo was from a relatively low altitude of ~8000ft. The middle
two photos would generally be what you would see with binoculars during a
normal refueling around 20k ft. These first 3 photos were taken using afocal
projection by holding a point & shoot digital camera behind the eyepiece of
a 10x50 binocular (I had no film on hand when the events took place so
desperate times required desperate measures). The last photo was also at an
altitude of ~20k ft using a 420mm lens on a 35mm body.
Obviously it helps to live near a refueling track. The first three photos
were just random refuelings that happened to take place over my home. The
last photo was a refueling taking place on AR-207 overhead Shaw AFB.
