[COMMENTS]
This was by far the best of the five air shows I have attended this year.
I think the conversation I overheard between officers sums it up best:
"the only thing we are missing is a C-130".
The 123.325 that I reported in my pre-show log as a possible Snowbird
freq was not heard the rest of the weekend.
During the Friday practice one of the Snowbirds reported some FOD from
inside his cockpit landed on his canopy during an inverted maneuver.
Most of the 194th FS Falcons had the Outstanding Unit Award with one silver
and 3 bronze oak leaf clusters painted on the fuselage near the nose.
The E-9 was open for a walk-thru. At the back of the cabin is where the
radio relays are located. Most of them were set to generic freqs (ie 300.0)
but one caught my eye that was set to 202.175. All of the telemetry radios
were in the 1.4 GHz range.
In addition to the MU-2B on static display there were seven more parked on
a ramp across the runways. There were also 14 more QF-4s with the orange
tails parked on the same ramp.
Golden Knight 608 served as the jump aircraft for both the Canadian Skyhawks
and the US Army Golden Knights.
The QF-4 had a fouled drag chute on Saturday which required the F-15 to
perform a go-around.
It seems the Raptor is still plagued by gremlins. Shortly after takeoff on
Sunday one of them had to perform an avionics reset.
