At Navy FTW for the April 2nd and 3rd show I had put the typical 163.000 and
165.225 plus the old 164.9 and 168.9 and 170.9 channels in the scanner and
heard nothing for several hours. I happened across one of the maintenance techs
with a high band XTS3000 type I and heard audio--I decided to put in some of
the 142 channels that I had on an old list since the 160 crop wasn't working
and heard traffic on 142.625 but it appeard to be off channel....I reprogrammed
to 142.615 (on my Pro-43) and had much better audio....the old 142 channels
also may be a source of traffic. I am guessing that 142.6125 was the channel in
use that day.

Ted is aboslutely correct. I have had two other reports for other airshows in
the last three days that have now IDed this new BA grnd freq as 139.8125.
Guess they gotsome new narrowband radios. If they did I don't expect to see them
in the 162-174 MHz anymore. I would suggest those of you without Close Call or
Signal Stalker capability to keep a close eye in the 138-144 MHz band with
12.5 kHz spacing.
73 all and good hunting,
