Near-space communications platform tested in Arizona

Apparently they are using ballons with off the shelf commercial radio 
equipment attached flying at altitudes of 65K to 325K...  The experiement 
involved ground & air comms with A10's from a site in CO to AZ on UHF 
freqs... interesting article.....
