Friends
I had my Pro97 lesson than a half hour and it was damaged. I had non
rechargeable batteries in the black holder. I was programming in the
Glynn/Brunswick (Georgia) trunked system with the radio plugged into an
AC outlet. All of a sudden the radio got hot. I unplugged it right
away. Carefully removed the battery cover to find the battery holder
soaked with battery acid. .
Needless to say I was and still am very excited about this radio. It's
really depressing that I had it but for under an hour and have to
return it for a new one. Thankfully with a two kids in the house my
mother, their grand mother, had the good sense to hide the packaging
for the radio .. I knew where I put it and went into a panic when it
wasn't there. .. It of course turned up. I have everything read to go
back. Including the black battery holder in a plastic sandwich bag with
the batteries that leaked still in it. Steve
