I must be lucky.  3 out of 4 scanners sit on a computer case.  The 4th
lives next to a 19" monitor.  The shortwaves sit near a 2nd computer and
monitor and I'm unaware of any ill effects.

Of course, in order to scientifically eliminate the computers, I'd have
to TURN THEM OFF.  [yikes!]   Well, you get the idea :)  I can turn one
off, but it would be sacreligious to turn the other one off.
