Like Ed Langworthy, I too have been taking milair capable scanners to both
military and civilian air shows in the U.S. and Canada for years,
including every year in the post-Sept. 11th era, and have never ever had
any trouble with security, customs, etc. I also have carried on scene
every year a frequency counter and I've never ever had any trouble from
security while using that either.

But if you're the nervous type like I am here's a safety tip: Take on
scene only equipment you can "afford" to lose. In my case, I bought a
used Pro-60 and Pro-43 years ago when I first got into the hobby. They
work great and do the job and at the same time if security gets sticky or
they're dropped or otherwise damaged at the show, it's not much of a loss.

Enjoy the show!

Best Wishes,
Jim
