99% of the shows it hasn't been a problem over the last two seasons.. On 
occasion they may want to see the battery compartment BUT you aren't 
detained any longer than anyone else going through the security checkpoint.

HOWEVER, if you plan on bringing a mobile type scanner(s), with a large 
battery, etc.  along with a wagon to carry the antennas, etc.. you will 
probably need to get special permission ahead of time, rather than just 
showing up at the security check point.

Also at most shows it's not a problem for  you to go back to your vehicle 
and monitor via the mobile scanner if you want.
