Hi Joe:

Although I agree with the prior posts that the larger coax sizes have 
less loss and that's important, you may be better off using regular 75 
Ohm TV coax AND a mast head preamp.  Radio Shack sells a number of these 
preamps where the masthead unit looks similar to an attenuator (i.e. 
it's just a barrel with F male & female fittings.  Get one that covers 
the frequency range you need.  This way you establish the noise figure 
at the preamp and then a reasonable amount of coax loss does not matter.

Use Radio Shack Lube Gel inside all outdoor coax joints to keep water out.

I've used this method with very good results.  It may not work well in 
Eurpoe where there's a lot of high powered signals that can cause 
intermod problems.
