Surely, Pop Comm "Utility Communications Digest" columnist Steve Douglass,
continues to be a lightening rod for criticism from some people as evidenced
by the March 2005 edition that has a sub column "Rotten Tomatoes" (about 2
to 3 columns of an 8 column narrative, exclusive of loggings).

Lets face it Steve does add some intrigue to the somewhat mundane milcom
monitoring aspect of the hobby. Granted most of us do have an in these
military "Black Projects", but I never have monitored or observed anything
resembling a black project (BUT it's been a real adreneline rush in the
distant past to have U2's on takeoff/climbout fly right over my house & be
able to monitor the radio transmissions as they climb out to FL above 60K
feet!!!). In theory, it's very plasusible that these project exit; BUT I
guess the key ingredients to any hobby radio monitoring magazine would to
give us some "meat", e.g. what's a good bet for active frequencies to
monitor for the POTENTIAL of hearing some action?

I did a bit of research on the world wide web & I think that for those
interested in these potential "black" military activities some fairly good
sites to visit would include:

http://www.grove-ent.com/area51.html 'Monitoring Times' magazine extensive
article reprint (for free!!!) "Phatom in the Desert, A Radio Guide to Area
51" --- Here's at least the freqs "meat" that might be active in the the
area 51 geographic location.

http://www.black-triangle.co.uk/bt.htm Blackworld Interceptors Aviation
Journalism ( Check out the entire website pages which has some audio
recordings as well as some additonal Douglass info)

http://www.dreamlandresort.com/index_en.html Dreamland Resort -The World's
Largest Area 51 Research Website (extensive area 51 information, including
a posting forum of current information).

http://www.fas.org/main/home.jsp -- Federation of American Scientists
website. Click on the US Weapons web page.

http://robocat.users.btopenworld.com/ Some "black program" aircraft check
out the whole site for additional links, although site hasn't been updated
since 2003

http://www.colinmil.mcmail.com/latest1.htm#top. Seems to be a logical
discussion of some black programs & appears to belive that radio monitoring
intercepts of flight test are a hoax.

http://www.popsci.com/popsci/archive/aviation 'Popular Science' magazine..
See the aviation archieves for the X43 and some additional interesting
articles as well as some videos.

http://www.discovery.com/ The Discovery Channel -- do a search, some
interesting video segments from the military channel.

By far this isn't an all inclusive list of sites, just do a search with your
favorite search engine "Military Black Projects", "Area 51", etc....
