[MilCom] military MAST traffic in the NE US

Ben:

Overall I don't think that's there's ANY formal MAST programs left in the
US... What's on the webpage for civilian helos is what the expected
emergency medical standard is so the military is NOT in a primary role.

However, there is an exeception --- There is a program called National
Disaster Medical System see http://ndms.dhhs.gov/ which does have military
support component (e.g. aeromedical evacuation (airlift) out of major areas
of the disaser e.g. very strong earthquakes). Of course there also could be
Army National Guard & Reserve helo units operating in a tactical medical
evacuation mode as well as some field type hospitals being set up.

For the most part my previous posts (check the archieves) showing Army
National Guard frequencies by state would be the best bet for most of the
tactical medical evacuation. Also there's civilian teams specific
designated for response to disasters. Within each state region there's
usually some civilian medical UHF & VHF freqs designated for emergency
coordination and the military may have access to these freqs.

Your listing for the 439 Aeromedical Staging Squadron isn't correct. This
is actually an AF Reserve unit. Also the frequency shown is not correct.
At this point my guess is most likely the 439th would be using
digital/digital encrypted type radios systems as well as HF SSB & digital
printer type technologies.

Ken
