I did an article on these guys in my monthly MilAir/Fed Column a few months
ago in "Scanning USA". These frequencies should be helpful for hearing the
HAWG ##/ATLAS ## 188th FW guys out of Ft. Smith, AR.
Ft. Smith ANG 01: 286.100 01: 140.425 188th FW CP/HAWGPEN (SOF)
Ft. Smith ANG 13: 288.300 13: 138.900 Rivers MOA/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 14: 258.125 14: 142.525 HAWG TOD/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 15: 15: 142.550 HAWG Ops/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 16: 16: 138.250 HAWG Ops/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 17: 17: 138.300 HAWG Ops/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 18: 18: 138.400 HAWG Ops/Intraflight
Ft. Smith ANG 19: 292.350 19: 118.900 HQ's/WOLFMAN Avionics
I noticed the post mentioning the 188th FS (which they were until they
became a FW in the late 1990's). They are not based out of New Mexico unless
there has been some recent change I'm unaware of. They are out of Ebbing
ANG Base (Ft. Smith Regional) in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Today, they are
labeled the 188th FW/184th FS and primarily use the callsign HAWG ## when
heard around the D/FW area. I haven't heard them down this way in a year or
so however.
