Brian, I have to agree with Blaine, I'm 100% sure it was SCOUT. Barksdale B-52s are often in the refueling tracks down here using SKULL and sometimes DOOM, but not recently.
 
This is the first time I've heard SCOUT used in my area. The common AWACS c/s i hear are DRAGNET, DARKSTAR, CHALICE, GOLIATH, THUMPER and BANDSAW. 
 
Earlier today I picked up DRAGNET with WIZARD on AICC. I have it used by E-3s and E-8s. The comms didn't give a clue as to which one it was.

Possibly. But the signal was very strong and sounded very much
like SCOUT 97 to me. I've heard them use the SCALP and SKULL
callsign before on missions. This time around it didn't sound the
same. But I can also see how all three callsigns could be easily confused.
