It is 8:34am EST (1334z), and SAM 28000 is the back-up acft for Air Force
One today while POTUS is visiting Florida. And SAM 28000 just gave those of
us here at Patrick AFB quite a treat. As he was preparing to land, at 8:25am
EST, he was instructed to go around once due to a security situation at
Patrick. So he made a low pass over Rnwy 20, a left turn, and then flew his upwind
leg over the beach. During this approach and landing he was in comms with the
tower on 133.75.
I was able to get two terrific photos of this beatutiful bird, the
closest shots I have every gotten of a SAM in the air. I will be uploading the
photos to my website later today.
