The Springfield Republican, 10/19/04 has an article
entitled "Medical Training Facility Planned"

The facility will be located on an abandon 18 acre AF communication site in
Granby MA, across the street from a community park that has year around
public access. (approximately 5 miles from Westover JARB, close to the
Runway 23 approach area).

The 94th Regional Readiness Command (all of New England) will train army
medical specialty reservists. From 100 to 400 people could be on site
sleeping in tents outside the building. Both weekend and two annual
training will be conducted at the new site for 3/4 of the year.

WOW, this will give area hobbyists a unique opportunity to be "VERY NEAR
scene" trying to scope those elusive low power tactical frequencies... Will
be find them in the new military UHF 380-400 band, or low band, or VHF high
band????!!!.
