[MilCom] Help in the MidWest

I think I have a couple things working against me as a milcomer. I live in a condo and I live in the MidWest. Not exactly the mecca of military aviation. Although I realize HF is not limited to a geographic area. 
Can anyone suggest a good antenna to use in my condo? Outside antennas are a no no! Also can anyone tell me what types of Milcom I can expect to hear in the Midwest...specifically Northwest Iowa.
