Poor HF propagation conditions made copying the voice comms a real challenge.
Most were very weak or covered by loud QRM. Aircraft were generally not heard
or unreadable.
1. U.S. COAST GUARD:
08912.0 J15 (HH-60J #6015 CGAS Clearwater): 1107 USB/ALE sounding.
08912.0 LNT (Camslant Chesapeake): 1243 USB/ALE TO J32 (HH-60J #6032 CGAS
Cape Cod-not heard). Then in voice at 1331 on 18594.0 Camslant confirms position
as 4123N/7312W. Camslant asks J32 to come up on 5696 and relay info to CG 2140
(HU-25 #2140 CGAS Cape Cod). Camslant advises J32 that the Boston transit
site is down for maintenance so they cannot contact 2140 directly. At 1344
Camslant advises J32 (not heard) that they have received info that CG2140 has landed
safely at CGAS Atlantic City. Camslant then confirms J32's position as
4120N/7434W.
18594.0 LNT (Camslant): 1328 USB/ALE TO F41 (HU-25 #2141 CGAS Cape Cod-not
heard). Then in voice Camslant confirms position as 4058N/7031W.
13907.0 LNT (Camslant): 1345 USB/ALE TO J13 (HH-60J #6013 CGAS Clearwater).
10242.0 F39 (HU-25 #2139 CGAS Corpus Christi): 1448 USB/ALE sounding. At
1702 in USB/ALE w/STR (unidentified).
18594.0 LNT (Camslant): 1454 USB/ALE TO J37 (HH-60J #6037 CGAS Elizabeth
City). Also noted on 10242.0. Flew second sortie in the early evening (2300 hour
UTC).
23214.0 LNT (Camslant): 1654 USB/ALE TO J42 (HH-60J #6042 CGAS Elizabeth
City) and in voice radio checks.
08912.0 PAC (CamsPac Point Reyes): 1736 USB/ALE TO 718 (HC-130H #1718, CGAS
Sacramento). At 2158 CamsPac w/1718 (not heard) confirming that 1718 is on
final for homeplate and securing radio guard.
11494.0 J39 (HH-60J #6039 ATC Mobile): 1928 USB/ALE sounding.
18594.0 LNT (Camslant): 1929 USB/ALE w/712 (HC-130H #1712, CGAS Barbers
Point-not heard) then in voice radio checks.
13907.0 WST (ICE Regional Communications Node (West): 1938 USB/ALE TO 201
(possibly HC-130J #2001, C130J Aircraft Project Office, CGAS Elizabeth City).
13907.0 PAC (CamsPac): 2329 USB/ALE TO 704 (HC-130H #1704, CGAS Sacramento).

audio is much better today than it was yesterday. Service Center says they are
going back to scan and also standing by on the landline.
