Hey Master John and all,
John will will find an official DoD listing and explanation of the more
general DOD static calls in use at

9-1 Codes for aircraft identification. You will find that Air Force 1
applies only to USAF aircraft, etc. The above is a very useful reference
for the Milcom enthusiast.

I'm well aware the callsign "Air Force One" is used for any fixed-wing
aircraft transporting the POTUS. When President Bush landed on the
carrier last year, did the Navy guy get to use "Air Force One". He
must've gotten a kick out of that. :-)
