I would probably agree with Adam here.  Everyone needs to remember that
VFA-203 and VFA-201 switched aircraft about two years ago.  Not long after
that 201 went to Iraq and 203 stayed here.  For that reason it has been a
little more difficult to keep up with them.  I have some pictures of jet 300
at home I took at last years Change of Command for 203.  I will look and see
if I can find out tonight.

After a quick search on Scramble, Here's the two possibilities;
 
162868 AF-300 F/A-18A 407/A339 VFA-203 ex w/o sep96
jan02 w/o 16jan02
163150 AF-300 F/A-18A 573/A480 VFA-203 act mar04
mar04
 
(Only VFA-203 BuNO I know off hand is 163101 which is a VMFA-142 jet now.)
 
Taking a shot into the dark, I'd guess 163150 is the jet you saw.
 
I heard a while back WG has a VFA-203 jet, Is AF-300 the only Dolphin you
know of on display or is there another one?
