Two Navy P-3 aircraft will help track the launch of NASA's Arua Earth
observation satellite on July 11. Lift-off is set for 6:01 a.m. EDT (3:01
a.m. PDT) from Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif.
The aircraft should start tracking the Delta II rocket, carrying Arua,
about five minutes and 50 seconds after lift-off. The aircraft will track
the Delta II until 12 minutes and 40 seconds after launch and then lose
contact with the vehicle.
The P-3's will be located at the following coordinates during their
tracking support:
14.70 degrees North Latitude
128.60 degrees West Longitude
The two aircraft are based at Point Mugu Naval Air Station, Calif.
