[MilCom] HF Gear??

I am looking at setting up my station to listen to HF right now i just 
listen to lowband 30 and above to 800 mhz digital trunked. A friend had 
given me a Allied Radio it says Knight Chicago IL on the window that reads 
the power level. I know nothing about this rig. i also am looking at 
purchasing a DX-394 or similar receiver. I would appreciate anyhelp with the 
Allied Radio I could not find anything on the internet. thanks Riley
