in theory, the hometown citizens already PAID for this.
Try to follow my twisted logic:

The president stated that the US gave 40% of the world total
humanitarian aid last year, to the tune of $2.4 BILLION.

He has asked for (and has received) hundreds of billions more.
If we add in the non-humanitarian aid figures plus Iraq, it appears that
there's a LOT of money pouring out of the country.  Since money comes
from taxes, WE are paying an awful lot of money and have no say where it
goes.  I for one think we have more pressing problems locally.

Yet after all this, there is insufficient money for basic communications
gear for our brave troops?

Someone needs to do the math here because 2+2 just does NOT equal what
we're getting fleeced for in taxes.  


If we weren't so busy with reality tv and beer, we would riot.
