Greetings everyone,

This log is a little late, sorry.

CANFORCE 12, self-id as a Sea King helicopter, departed Regina,
Saskatchewan airport 1610 UTC Aug 28/04, enroute Thunder Bay. CANFORCE 12
was on 118.6 Regina Tower, and then upon exiting the control zone was
cleared to enroute frequencies. CANFORCE 12 also called Edmonton Radio (via
the Regina remote transmitter) on 122.5, requesting that their flight plan
to Thunder Bay be opened.

Also, FYI, if you didn't hear the news. A report on the crash of a Sea King
helicopter onto the deck of a destroyer last year has been obtained by the
news media. Apparently mechanics made an error on an air flow adjustment
for one of the two engines. The setting was two full screw turns out. The
wrong setting then caused a compressor and the entire engine to stall
seconds after takeoff from the destroyer. The destroyer was at sea, and was
damaged. However, fortunately, no one was seriously injured.
