A friend of mine that is a tower operator at Louis Armstrong International Airport (MSY), sent me a short list of the updated local ARTCC sector names and their VHF mate:
**********************************************************************************
"Shawn, these are from memory because of what we use the most at work:
126.35 / 338.25 Baton Rouge Low (BTR)
133.5 / 343.95 Hammond Low
126.8 / 281.5 Picayune Low
127.65 / 288.15 Brookley Low
134.9 / 290.45 Leeville Low for A/C climbing to 17,000 or less
132.175 / 353.55 Leeville Low for A/C climbing to FL180 or higher
120.35 Offshore sector, I THINK it's 7,000 and below, just offshore and
beyond from south of Houma out to a western boundary that I do not
know, pretty dead unless IMC conditions prevail and helos begin filing
IFR plans."
**********************************************************************************
He's working on some more for me, and I'll pass them on. Good to get them from the source.
Here's what the former names were:
Baton Rouge Low was listed as Lafayette Low (very active).
Hammond Low was McComb (MS) Low.
Picayune (MS) Low was Lacomb (LA) Low
Brookley (AL) was Mobile Low Discrete (NE Mobile Bay)
Leeville (LA) Low was Grand Isle (LA) Low
