Navy Special Operations

Special Operations Command, Naval Special Warfare Development Group, 
Virginia Beach, Va., will be using two CASA-212 aircraft for Military Free 
Fall (MFF) High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) para-ops proficiency/training 
missions next month. Operations will take place between May 12 and May 17 
at Pinal Air Park, Marana, Arizona.

Total amount of on-site flying hours for training are estimated at 40 hours 
elevator service and 33 hours positioning and de-positioning of aircraft to 
and from training site. Daily flights will vary according to training 
profile requirements, averaging 4.5 hours per day.

In addition, Navy special ops will also use a single CASA-212 aircraft for 
MFF and HALO para-ops proficiency/training mission in Virginia. These 
operations will take place between May 19 and May 24 at Suffolk Airport, 
Suffolk, Va.

Total amount of on-site flying hours for training are estimated at 20 hours 
on-site elevator service and eight hours positioning and de-positioning of 
aircraft to and from training site. Daily flights will vary according to 
training profile requirements, averaging three to five hours per day.

Jump altitude will be approximately 13,000 feet consisting of 16 jumpers.
