NAF 86, the second flight of Netherlands Air Force F-16s, a flight of
four that we have been awaiting, has just landed at Melbourne IAP (6:25pm
EDT). They used 261.3 for air-air; that is also the boom freq for their
tanker. But they chose VHF ATC freqs all the way, and landed using
Melbourne's 118.2 tower freq. This is the same procedure used by the flight
of five that landed yesterday.
I heard NAF 49, their KDC-10 tanker depart Melbourne IAP yesterday
afternoon, evidently to stage somewhere and await this second flight.
