0723z 12 Apr 03

11244.0 was active at 0655z with MAIN ROAD (good/fair levels here)
calling MAINSAIL "with request" a few times with no response and moving to
"triple one."

11175.0 was active at 0656z with MAIN ROAD (fair/good) calling
MAINSAIL and raising OFFUTT (weak/barely readable here but ok to MAIN
ROAD.) MAIN ROAD requested that they move to 11244.0.

11244.0 was active at 0658z with MAIN ROAD (fair/good) calling and
raising OFFUTT (weak/barely readable to unheard) for an attempted DSN phone
patch to 3 prefix 734 numbers. OFFUTT was unable to complete patches. At
0706z MAIN ROAD changed the prefix to 884 (Tinker) and the patch was placed
to ANKLE BONE. MAIN ROAD then sent an AKAC 369 message of 6 groups to
ANKLE BONE: LAQ PB2 GDU CJE VQT DWY. MAIN ROAD then attempted to confirm
that ANKLE BONE was in receipt of the traffic but MAIN ROAD and OFFUTT's
signals then faded into the noise floor and quiet.

First time in maybe 5+ years or so that a CONUS GHFS/HFCGC ground
station has been heard moving to 11244.0 to conduct a phone patch of any kind.
