It took a while for the P-3s to get back to using Patrick for training.
The long runway (Rnwy 02/20) was closed for several years due to a botched
paving job, and I guess the Jax boys found somewhere else to go. But now
they are back here in full force. We get at least two flights a day from
VP-30, and on some days get as many as six flights for multiple touch-and-goes.
I just wish someone had a diagram of the various types of P-3s so I could
learn how to visually distinguish the BMUP types from AIPs and all the
other model types. Many people do not realize how complicated the P-3
configurations are. I know you do, Tom.
I can't wait until we get some P-8s here. Wish we would get an occasional
USAF F-35 too!!
