[MilAir] frequency listening question

Only thing I can answer to is. That some Icom radios older ones anyway, 
if you remove the back up memory battery without keeping external 
voltage on the system you e-prom chip would loose all the info stored in 
it and the radio will have to be sent to Icom to be re-programmed. 
Someone out there had a replacement chip that you could install that had 
non volatile memory. Other than that all radio company's want to service 
what they sell. Have you ever seen a Ford or Chevy dealer that did not 
want to do all the service work on your car.

Have fun, the high bands can be a lot of fun. Use good low loss coax and 
good fittings and you will hear all kinda of stuff.
