Rich,

The Tom is essentially gone.  They recently completed their final 
deployment.  The F-18E/F Super Hornet (Rhino) has replaced it in the air 
groups on the carriers.
I think if you google for the final F-14 deployment there is a video of a 
mass flyover somewhere that is pretty impressive.
