I was contacted by Hank's wife and was told that he has passed away this morning.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Friday, March 1, at Pederson Funeral Home in Rockford, MI

The funeral service will be at 11am Saturday, March 2, at the Courtland-Oakfield United Methodist Church. The website is coumc.weebly.com for address details.
There will be a lunch following the funeral service.

It was previously reported by Tom K8TB that Hank, N8XX was hospitalized from a heart attack and a stroke.

Holland Amateur Radio Club will be holding licensing exams Saturday, March 9,6PM for anyone wishing to get or upgrade their amateur radio license. Skywarn Training Class
The annual Kent/Ottawa County Skywarn class will be held Tuesday evening, March 12, at Grandville Middle School. The event is free and open to anyone of any age but especially targets residents of Kent and Ottawa County age 16 and up. It is limited to the first 400 people who sign up. Doors open at 6 pm with the training from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. Please enter from the Canal Street entrance to the school.
The material presented covers the basics of being a SKYWARN storm spotter, including learning about severe thunderstorms, funnel clouds and tornadoes, safety considerations for all hazards, spotter report criteria and spotter procedures. Becoming an official storm spotter for the county is optional after the training, not required.
SKYWARN storm spotter training participants should print out their free tickets at the eventbrite website and bring them with them to the training, as the personal information on the tickets will be used by the National Weather Service. Riverside Radio Amateurs and Ionia County RACES/ARES will be helping out with the Dirty 30 bike race, Saturday, March 30, on our back roads in Ionia County again this year. Raymond Passchier is the one doing the race and he was thinking about doing a 50 mile track or more this year, he did a 30 mile last year. With that being said we will need more operators to be placed on the course. Raymond is talking about starting at 10am. The op would need at least a dual band HT, a mobile radio would be better.
