ARRL Michigan Section Simulated Emergency Test (SET) exercise is Saturday, October 13 from 8 a.m. – 2 p.m. It is possible that the IRA Link System and other repeaters might be used for necessary analog communications, so please cooperate with any exercise activity as best as you can.
HIAD (Ham in a Day) class, Lowell, Saturday, October 13.
This is an opportunity for anyone wishing to get their amateur radio technician license to study and take the exam all in one afternoon. Directed study starts at 1:00 and continues till 6:00, when the test will be given. For registration and more information http://w8lrc.org/hiad-registration/ Cost for the Ham in a Day study session is $25. Also, anyone wanting to take an exam (technician or upgrade) without the class may arrive at 6:00. There is no cost for the exams. Anyone whose license is within 90 days of expiring can also renew their license between 6:00 and the end of testing at no charge.

Holland ARC E.A.T. meeting (Education And Training) is the fourth Tuesday, October 23, 7 pm at the Chick-Owa Sportsman’s Club. The club has purchased a series of instructional electronics videos which are around 30 minutes long.

SITE CLEANUP, Saturday, October 27, 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM. The Independent Repeater Association (IRA) is doing cleanup at the 92nd Street Hill repeater site. I should mention this site hosts many other Amateur Radio groups equipment as well. If you have never set foot on “the hill”or it’s been a while, this is a great time to get a tour of the place. We will be cleaning inside and out and your help is greatly appreciated. Arrive when you can, leave when you have to.
