We are still looking for 4 or 5 more volunteers to work this years event. The event supports the Rockford Explorer and D.A.R.E. programs. We would be helping out in all aspects of the event from Registration, traffic control to runner safety. The event is Saturday July 12th at the Rockford High School. We would be there from 6AM to 1PM, but we can be flexible on the times. This is a great opportunity to get out into the community. We will have one of the trucks there on display with the police cruisers. Come out and show your support for the community and get the word out about who we are and what we do. This is a fun low key event. Food will be provided. Please wear your RACES or SAR shirts, but there is no need to wear full uniforms. If you are not part of an orginization please dress professional, but comfortable. Because of the duration of the event we have two shifts available or if you wish you can work both. Events like this are a great opportunity to get public exposure for the group. Our primary duties will be runner safety. We will position personal along the course to monitor the runners.
