[MIham] Open Membership in the RACES group

Hi All,

As we move into 2006 I would like to invite all amateurs in the county to
get involved with the Kent County RACES group.

Right now 62 amateur radio operators are signed up as members.  We are
expanding to meet the needs of our served agencies.   Right now our served
agencies include: Kent county Sheriff's Department, American Red Cross Grand
Rapids Chapter, Grand Rapids Fire Department and of course this does not
include all the other communities / agencies that fall under jurisdiction of
our main served agency.

In 2006 we will be rolling out new member requirements to meet the busy
lifestyles of potential volunteers.  We will also be starting a new member
training program that will better meet the needs of the served agencies
along with our mission.

    1.. Must be 18 years of Age
    2.. Felony and Misdemeanor free
    3.. Willing to get an amateur radio license
    4.. Interested in serving the community
We have a very short and simple application to fill out for any member
interested that will cover service for all of our served agencies.

Severe Weather Spotting
Damage Assessment
Served Agency support
Public Service Events
