[MIham] Bud - KG8BK Memorial - Please Fwd

Fellow Hams,

  Lionel "Bud" Owen, KG8BK, recently passed-on early in his life of an
undetected cardiac condition.  The Independent Repeater Association, Inc.,
is sponsoring a Memorial for Bud Owen, KG8BK.  This Memorial is intended to
possibly aid others with similar circumstances.

  Bud was an IRA Board member and a "special friend" to many people both
hams and non-hams alike.  His personality, wit, and willingness to give,
shined brightly on so many people and in so many ways.  That light is now
going to be reflected back with a Memorial in his honor to a "major local
institution" (to be selected by Bud's wife, Marianne) that can contribute to
detecting the condition which took Bud away.

  All contributors to Bud's Memorial will be listed on a certificate and
accompany the donation provided to the selected institution in Bud's memory.
Please communicate this "final QSL venture" to all hams.  What can you do to
help?  Completion date is Thanksgiving 2004.
