The following events are scheduled in the Grand Rapids area for October
2003 and beyond. Anyone interested are welcome at these events.

The next meeting of the Grand Rapids Amateur Radio Association (GRARA)is
Friday, October 3, 7PM, at the American Red Cross building, 1050 Fuller
Ave NE between the Ford I-196 expressway and Leonard ST. Talk-in

ELECTION OF OFFICERS is this month, all GRARA members who can be at this
meeting should plan on attending
The monthly WLAV-FM Citidel Broadcasting and 147.26-(94.8Hz) Transmitter
site cleanup is the Tuesday evening following the meeting (Oct 7), 6PM or
whenever you can get there. If you can also bring a lawn mower, great.
The drive passes a farm house and out building off of Pettis Ave just
north of 4 Mile Rd.
The W8DC ham shack at the Red Cross building is open for use Wednesdays
7:15PM to about 9 or after. Be sure to have a copy of your license if you

This Month's VE Amateur Radio license exams is Friday, October 10,
6:30PM, at the Red Cross Building. All Walk-ins.

DAPR, the Downtown Amateur Packet Radio Group of Grand Rapids, meets for
breakfast the Saturday after the first Friday of each month, October 4,
at 8AM. New Beginnings Restaurant, 1455 Michigan St NE. Use the Fuller
exit (turn south) off of I-196 then go east on Michigan. "Talk-in" is
on 146.760/R. Anyone
interested in digital modes is invited to attend. Contact

X in Grand Rapids on Nov 12th. Start time is 7pm. The course will be

**EDITORS NOTE: Its been a long time since there has been a state
convention, much less in West Michigan. If we want this to be a success
and continue, we must support this. I've already mailed in my banquet
reservation and ticket order. Nuff said!
