If any of you know a blind Ham, or for that matter any blind person with an IBM
compatible computer, who has limited financial means, and needs a speech
synthesizer, I have two to donate. They are the Echo PC, by Street Electronics,
a stand alone unit (not an internal card), use an AC adapter and connect to the
COM#1 serial port of the computer. The RS/232 interface cable is included.
However, to make it speak, screen reading software is necessary! This is true
for all speech synthesizer units.
